As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring that our locations remain in optimal condition, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for managing and addressing maintenance requests across all Swensons locations. This includes overseeing the upkeep, repair, and replacement of various facilities and equipment, while maintaining effective communication with vendors and internal management regarding the status of maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for all restaurant facilities, including plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical systems, and kitchen equipment.
  • Implement regular preventative maintenance protocols for all equipment to ensure longevity and efficiency.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions through inspection, operation, or testing.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in facility renovations, refurbishments, and new installations.
  • Perform necessary repairs on buildings, sidewalks, and parking areas.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently.
  • Manage maintenance budgets effectively, ensuring clear communication with supervisors regarding financial matters.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders accurately.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.
  • Communicate progress and any concerns to relevant parties promptly.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations consistently.
  • Be prepared for flexible work hours, including potential overtime, weekends, or after-hours shifts as required by restaurant operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Capable of standing and performing physical tasks for extended periods, up to ten hours.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations to ensure safety.
  • Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Demonstrate dexterity for using tools and equipment safely.
  • Work in environments that may include wet floors, temperature extremes, and elevated noise levels.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and vendors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to safe driving practices.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts and fulfill responsibilities throughout the duration of the shift.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably within the restaurant or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, refrigeration repair, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in using mobile software for managing and tracking work orders.
  • Possess reliable transportation for work-related travel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships quickly.
  • Exhibit a positive, energetic attitude and the ability to remain active throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States and provide necessary documentation.
