Job Overview:

The Custodian/Driver is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within the facility while providing essential transportation services. This role is crucial in ensuring that all operational aspects run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in regular staff meetings to stay informed and engaged.
  2. Conduct daily inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness and proper condition.
  3. Maintain all equipment in optimal working order and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Provide transportation services as directed by supervisors and coordinate requests from staff.
  5. Assist in preparing emergency services as needed.
  6. Manage the collection and delivery of donations as required.
  7. Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and fueled regularly.
  8. Set up and dismantle rooms for various activities, ensuring cleanliness by the end of the week.
  9. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and inspect all food storage areas.
  10. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and consult with supervisors before undertaking major repairs.
  11. Organize and secure all storage areas to ensure safety and accessibility.
  12. Address safety and security concerns promptly.
  13. Support the Christmas Kettle Program by maintaining equipment.
  14. Ensure the facility is organized and well-kept at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of janitorial and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and within set timelines.
  • Must successfully complete an in-house driver education program.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to inspire others.
  • Commitment to teamwork while also being capable of independent work.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
