Position Overview

The Navistar Procurement IT team is in search of a Lead Systems Consultant to enhance our operations.

The ideal candidate will take charge of one or more systems within the Procurement IT domain, ensuring effective management of updates, prioritizing enhancement requests, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of the business rationale behind system modifications.

This role necessitates collaboration across various functions with corporate IT for coding, hardware, and software upgrades, as well as engaging with key stakeholders to grasp their requirements.

The Lead Systems Consultant will guarantee that IT initiatives under their oversight are executed punctually and within budget constraints. They will liaise with both internal and external teams to support and facilitate projects as required.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for delivering descriptive and diagnostic analytics along with visualization to bolster Procurement Business Intelligence at Navistar.

A strong proficiency in analytical skills and expertise in SQL, Excel, and Power BI is essential for analyzing extensive data sets. The capability to cleanse, normalize, and integrate data from diverse sources is crucial.
This position involves managing development timelines and fostering cross-functional communication to ensure timely project launches. This is a highly visible, challenging, and rewarding role within a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and implement process enhancement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma)

• Diagram and assess existing processes

• Develop metrics that provide data for process evaluation, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities

• Collect data to pinpoint root causes of issues. Measure performance against process requirements and align improvements to address performance gaps.

• Provide consultation on re-engineering techniques to enhance process performance and product quality.

• May deliver presentations and training sessions covering measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.

• Research and analyze best practices for techniques and processes.

• Build and nurture relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and management

• Anticipate potential challenges, proactively manage changes to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget

• Must be a proficient problem-solver who follows through on implementation

• Manage tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

• Interact with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure timing and quality expectations of the program are met

• Maintain open and frequent communication regarding program status to cross-functional and procurement leadership teams

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• At least 8 years of experience in business process improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma

• At least 1 year of leadership experience

• OR

• Master's degree

• At least 6 years of experience in business process improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma

• At least 1 year of leadership experience

• OR

• At least 10 years of experience in business process improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma

• At least 1 year of leadership experience

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
