Position Overview:
The Imaging Technologist operates with minimal oversight in multiple modalities within the Imaging department.

This role encompasses various imaging techniques, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography, to ensure precise diagnostic assessments and potential interventional procedures.

The technologist executes a range of technical tasks that necessitate independent decision-making and assumes responsibility for specific areas or procedures as designated.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills is a 150-bed facility catering to the rapidly expanding community in San Antonio.

Our specialized services encompass orthopedic and surgical care, intensive care, women's health, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular services, a vascular lab, sleep studies, emergency care, and more.

The campus features an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of which supports our Family Medicine Residency Program and Family Health Center.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Meets the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Exhibits proficiency in a variety of diagnostic procedures across multiple modalities.
  • After completing procedures, the technologist ensures the computer is programmed to confirm the exam's completion and that all scan data is accurately stored for future reference.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks throughout the workday to uphold a high standard of patient care and continuity.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges in the billing system.
  • Demonstrates competence with all age demographics to guarantee proper study completion.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards as mandated by state and federal regulations, the hospital, and other governing bodies.
  • Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information.
  • Embodies the core values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent qualification is required. ARRT, RT (R), or other recognized Registries as per scope of practice.

Must be registered or eligible for registration in a secondary modality and fulfill the registration requirements within two years of performing in that modality.

A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or hospital environment is preferred, with three years in a clinical imaging setting being highly desirable. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is essential.

Current state licensure is required, along with a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Varies based on departmental needs.
