Position Overview:
The Imaging Technologist will operate proficiently in multiple modalities within a diagnostic imaging department with minimal oversight.

This role encompasses various imaging techniques including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, PACS, and Mammography, ensuring the delivery of precise diagnostic evaluations and potential interventional procedures.

The technologist will execute a range of technical tasks that necessitate independent decision-making and will be accountable for specific areas or procedures as needed.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills is a 150-bed facility catering to the rapidly expanding community of San Antonio.

Our specialized services encompass orthopedic and surgical care, intensive care, women's health, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular services from diagnostics to open-heart surgery, a vascular lab, sleep studies, emergency care, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound management, rehabilitation, and additional services.

The facility features an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, including one that hosts our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and Family Health Center.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Meets the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Exhibits proficiency in a variety of diagnostic procedures across multiple modalities.
  • After completing procedures, the technologist ensures that the computer is programmed to confirm the exam's completion and that all scan data is accurately archived on an optical disc for future reference.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks throughout the workday to uphold a high standard of patient care and continuity.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges into the billing system.
  • Demonstrates competence with all age groups to guarantee proper execution of studies.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards as mandated by state and federal regulations, the hospital, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from soliciting or disclosing any confidential information.
  • Embodies the core values of CHRISTUS Health in all interactions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized program is required. ARRT, RT (R), or other relevant registries per scope of practice are necessary.

Must be registered or registry-eligible in a secondary modality and fulfill the requirements for registration within two years of beginning work in that modality.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital or clinical environment is preferred. Three (3) years of experience in a clinical imaging setting is highly desirable. Registered by the (ARRT)

American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Current state licensure is required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification is required.
