Position Overview:
As an Assistive Technology Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing educational experiences for students requiring additional support through technology. This position offers both full-time and part-time options, ensuring flexibility in meeting the needs of our students and staff.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Coordinator of Specialized Programs and the EC Director, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Compensation:
Salary will be determined according to the classified pay scale.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred educational background includes an Associate or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with various technological devices such as iPads, laptops, and Chromebooks.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, including basic switches and communication devices, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in inventory and asset management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, parents, educators, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support licensed personnel in delivering assistive technology and augmentative communication resources to students.
  • Work in partnership with staff and parents to enhance student outcomes and create effective access solutions within the classroom.
  • Manage the inventory of assistive technology equipment and software.
  • Ensure that assistive technology equipment is maintained in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to assistive technology equipment and software as required.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to oversee the technology utilized by both staff and students.
  • Occasionally lift or move materials and equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in training sessions and in-service workshops, including the setup of equipment for demonstrations.
  • Utilize web-based applications for editing digital content and integrating it into communication devices.
  • Participate in meetings focused on assistive technology and augmentative communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assistive technology usage among students.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students through various channels.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Accurately manage documentation, records, and reports in compliance with Special Education guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or EC Director.
