Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Harper General Contractors is a commercial construction company serving the southeast with offices across North and South Carolina. We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting end-user technology, including network, software, hardware, and operating systems. This role will involve working in both office environments and construction job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist office staff and field users with software and hardware problem resolution.
  • Monitor helpdesk and take appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory response within specified time frames.
  • Document time spent and resolution details in ticketing system.
  • Machine imaging using MDT/WDS/Intune.
  • Windows active directory user account creation and management.
  • Issue/replace hardware and software as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and be prepared to make recommendations.
Requirements:
  • A strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and team-working skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Windows 10, Office 365, Apple iOS, Networking.
  • Active Directory account management.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job on a commercial job site, the employee may be exposed to loud noises; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions. Commercial construction sites can be hazardous. Required safety gear and rule adherence mandatory.

Physical Demands:

Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry necessary IT equipment up to 50 pounds.

Credentials and Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications desired.
  • Two to three years' experience in a support capacity in a user-oriented environment.
