POSITION OVERVIEW: The Financial Credit Analyst will assist lending professionals in evaluating credit requests for both new and existing clients. This role involves conducting comprehensive financial assessments for various lending opportunities, preparing credit approval and modification documentation for the Loan Committee, performing annual credit evaluations as necessary, ensuring adherence to the Bank's credit policies, and facilitating the timely collection and analysis of interim and annual financial statements from clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts in-depth analysis of financial data (including financial statements and agency reports) for prospective and current borrowing accounts, generating detailed reports that assess both short-term and long-term financial viability.
- Advises Loan Officers on loan approval or denial decisions, providing adequate documentation (such as loan submissions) to support these recommendations.
- Identifies and interprets financial trends, analyzing key financial ratios (e.g., cash flow to debt service, debt-to-equity ratios).
- Documents all financial analyses thoroughly through spreadsheets and comprehensive credit offering memorandums.
- Recommends loan grades following a meticulous credit analysis and documentation review.
- Coordinates specific departmental tasks to ensure efficient information flow.
- Delivers assigned reports as required.
- Conducts annual reviews of loan relationships.
- Engages in additional projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in a business-related field and/or a minimum of two years of relevant experience in analytical roles, operations, lending, or loan support within the banking sector. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills to interpret complex commercial financial statements. Familiarity with loan documentation and proper loan structuring is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a foundational understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is necessary. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while completing tasks independently or collaboratively are crucial. Candidates should maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
Compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and bank policies related to daily responsibilities is mandatory. Candidates must maintain a working knowledge of compliance regulations pertinent to their duties through timely completion of assigned training courses.
