Overview

The Patient Access Coordinator I plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients are accurately registered within the healthcare system. This position involves gathering comprehensive demographic, insurance, and clinical data to maintain precise records and facilitate timely billing for services rendered across various departments, including Outpatient Services, Offsite Laboratories, Specimen Collection Centers, and Emergency Departments.

Key Responsibilities

Efficiently manage scheduling for same-day appointments, tests, and examinations while providing reception duties and overseeing patient flow to support Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services or Emergency Department operations.

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

Experience Requirements

Relevant experience in customer service roles. Familiarity with computerized information systems is essential. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Strong customer service abilities. Professional demeanor and conduct. Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including shifts and holidays. Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous. Keen attention to detail and capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in basic Microsoft Windows applications and navigation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion. General office proficiency.

Compensation: $25.41 per hour
