Job Summary:

Seneca Foods Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate the activities of our production function to align with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct employees to work toward operational goals.
  • Direct and supervise full-time maintenance team.
  • Direct and supervise all processes to produce products that meet specifications.
  • Direct and supervise the accurate completion of all departmental records.
  • Ensure that all employees are adequately trained to perform assigned job.
  • Develop/execute daily production plan which effectively utilizes all materials.
  • Ensure that GMP's (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of raw product preparation, packaging, thermal processes and maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other supervisors, lead people and subordinates.
  • Know required procedures (FDA, USDA, OSHA, AIB, GMP).
  • Minimum of a high school education with additional training in Thermal processing and Quality Assurance.
  • Employee is required to have three (3) to five (5) years of experience in food processing as a supervisor or lead person.
  • Working conditions require frequently walking and standing in wet/humid conditions.
  • There will be exposure to chemicals and high noise. There is a 50-pound lifting requirement.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required.
  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
