Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our team in Occupational Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting initial history and physical exams, and participating in periodic patient case reviews. You will also be expected to maintain cordial and professional relations with all clients and employees, adhering to all quality-of-care measures and patient safety standards.
Responsibilities- Provide diversified duties in being responsible for the care of patients, assigned under direction of individual attending Physicians under the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner practices.
- Provide a variety of outpatient care and services, perform initial history and physical exams, consultation and/or follow-up care, participate as required in periodic patient case reviews, treat injured patients, including cleaning and bandaging wounds, applying heat/cold and splints to promote healing, prescribing stretches for reducing and preventing injuries, prescribing medication, advising on safer mechanism of job performance, and making referrals under the supervision of individually assigned Physician as part of daily activities.
- Maintain cordial and professional relations with all clients and employees.
- Adheres to all quality-of-care measures and patient safety standards.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelors Degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required. Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.
- Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required. Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
- Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.
- Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner: Qualified in all basic and advanced cardiac support standards as set by the American Heart Association is required.
- Proven ability to care for critically ill adult patients with a broad range of medical problems is required.
- Proven ability to demonstrate maturity, self-confidence and the ability to follow complex patient management plans as directed by the attending surgeon is required.
- Over three years up to and including five years' experience is required.
- Physician Assistant: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants within one year of hire is required. Qualified in all basic and advanced cardiac support standards is required.
- Experience in Occupational medicine and familiarity with Systoc EMR will make this a strong candidate.
- Willing to obtain DOT certification if not already certified.
