Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by reviewing records, reports, and operational practices.
  • Verify assets and liabilities through comparison with documentation.
  • Document audit tests and findings in audit work papers.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of internal control systems through audit questionnaires.
  • Maintain internal control systems by updating audit programs and recommending new policies.
  • Comply with legal requirements by analyzing existing and new security legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Prepare special audit reports by collecting and analyzing operational data.
  • Plan audits by understanding organizational objectives and establishing schedules.
  • Assess compliance by examining financial accounts, assets, payrolls, and related documentation.
  • Communicate audit progress and findings in status meetings and prepare final reports.
  • Enhance compliance by recommending improvements in management and accounting systems.
  • Safeguard the agency's reputation by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Update professional knowledge through educational opportunities and reading relevant publications.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related results.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in conducting audits and reviews for privately held entities.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in CCH's Engagement or similar paperless audit software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and audit standards.
  • Proven supervisory skills and ability to manage multiple engagements.
  • Analytical skills to assess and resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with CCH Products (CCH Axcess, Engagement, XCM, Client Portal, etc.).

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of the public accounting profession's expectations and work environment.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining flexibility.
