We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Electrical Engineering Team Leader to spearhead our forward-thinking electrical division in the Kansas City vicinity.

In this role, you will lead and nurture a compact team of electrical engineers and designers focused on creating transformative facilities. Your ability to mentor is essential, as you will be responsible for developing and retaining this skilled group.


As a proficient electrical engineer, you will oversee the complete design workflow or serve as a technical authority on specialized projects.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating project requirements, segmenting tasks, and collaborating with a Project Manager to outline the scope of work, budget, and resource allocation.

You will project workload 12-16 weeks ahead and/or develop a construction timeline for the projects under your leadership.

After delegating tasks to the project team, you will consistently monitor their progress and inform the PM of any alterations in scope.

Upholding quality standards in line with company production and design protocols is vital.


Located in Leawood, KS, you will partner with the Regional Director of Design and the HR team to attract and retain talent while formulating staffing strategies to align with business objectives.

You will also manage resource allocation to ensure efficient deployment across multiple concurrent projects.

Your team of engineers will look forward to learning from you as you enthusiastically share your expertise and provide them with training and career advancement opportunities.

You will explore design alternatives and draft electrical design scopes of work based on initial assessments and discussions with clients. Additionally, you will prepare engineering analyses and schematic designs for new systems while evaluating the performance of existing systems. Some drawings will be created by you, while others will be integrated into designs by drafters. You may also produce specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams. Familiarity with local regulations and industry-standard equipment, along with the ability to specify it for appropriate applications, is crucial. You will also engage in cost estimation, review contractor payment applications, assess construction budgets, and coordinate the completion of documentation. Regular interaction with clients will be essential to ensure satisfaction and foster relationships.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Prior electrical design experience in a senior or leadership capacity.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Proficiency in engineering design software and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).


Experience in designing building electrical systems, including: building service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low voltage systems.


Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, IBC, and other relevant building codes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Registered Professional Engineer.

Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Nutraceutical, or Life Science sectors.

Familiarity with medium voltage systems, electrical hazardous classified areas, and telecommunications systems.

Supervisory experience.
