We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Ryan Hospital. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our department.
Responsibilities:- Oversee patients in Fluids, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Isolation Wards
- Manage patients on intravenous fluids or cases that exceed Fluids Ward capacity
- Assist with pre- and post-operative patients, including Soft Tissue, Orthopedics, Neurology, Dentistry, and Ophthalmology
- Oversee and assist with emergency pick-ups and ICU transfers
- Triage inpatients, including physical assessments and passive range of motion
- Make recommendations regarding comfort and pain management
- Administer medications, perform venipuncture, and submit lab work
- Instruct veterinary students and nursing students
- Maintain communication with clinicians, students, and nurses regarding patient updates, concerns, and follow-ups
- Veterinary Technician, Wards A: 0-1 year of veterinary experience and board eligibility within 3 months
- Veterinary Technician, Wards B: 1-2 years of veterinary experience and a CVT
- Veterinary Technician, Wards C: 3-4 years of veterinary experience and a CVT
- Veterinary Technician, Wards D: 5+ years of veterinary experience and a CVT
- Veterinary Technician, Wards E: 8+ years of experience and a VTS or additional certifications
- Competitive salary range: $20.45/hr to $40.00/hr
- Shift differentials of 10-30% for nights/weekends
- 10-12 hour shifts, including mid-shift, overnight, and weekend shifts
- Physical requirements: ability to stand, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods, lift 25+ pounds with assistance
