Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Nurse Assistant to join our team at the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting the veterinary nursing team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Stock and maintain supplies, equipment, and medications in a clean and organized manner.
  • Assist with patient restraint, handling, and movement, ensuring the safety and well-being of both patients and staff.
  • Perform routine tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and disinfection to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Assist with medical procedures, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and monitoring patient status.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary nursing team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary nursing practices and technologies.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with a focus on patient care and nursing support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
