Job Summary

The Michaels Organization is seeking a highly motivated and organized Residential Property Manager Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recertification Interviews: Perform recertification interviews with residents, complete paperwork, and submit to the corporate office.
  • Rental Inquiries: Track rental inquiries from referrals, walk-ins, and phone contacts. Accept, date/time stamp, and log all applications for unit rental.
  • Unit Showings: Show vacant units and market property amenities.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivables: Maintain knowledge of all procedures for Accounts Payable and Receivables, assist the Community Manager with collections efforts.
  • Court Documents: Assist the Community Manager with filing court documents for eviction; attend court hearings if the Community Manager is not available.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Execute marketing campaigns for leasing of rental units, including promotion, tours of property and rental units. Prepare, process, and modify lease agreements and related forms.
  • Property Messaging: Coordinate with the property messaging service to retrieve messages and follow-up with calls if necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Remain current with all applicable laws and regulations relating to residential rental properties, and maintain knowledge of current company processes and procedures.
  • Office Supplies: Assist the Community Manager with ordering office supplies for the property when necessary.
  • Work Orders: Initiate, track, and close work orders utilizing systems for the property.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist the Community Manager with other tasks and duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: One or more years' experience with residential real estate management.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of college preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Professional appearance and the ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Working Conditions

The Residential Property Manager Assistant will primarily work in an office environment, but will need the ability to meet residents in their units, show units to potential residents, walk around to inspect the property, often in a multi-story facility including climbing stairs. May work around cleaning solvents, paint fumes, and landscaping chemicals. Evening and weekend work may be required.
