Role Summary: The Quality Control Laboratory Specialist plays a crucial role in collaborating with various Quality departments, providing essential resources and support, and ensuring the seamless operation of the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct metallurgical assessments to analyze the microstructure and case depth of heat-treated materials
- Oversee laboratory operations to ensure all testing is completed within a 24-hour timeframe
- Verify the accuracy of data in the laboratory management system
- Prepare detailed and accurate certificates for heat treatment processes
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments
- Calibrate testing equipment as necessary
- Manage and replenish laboratory supplies
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation for shipping
- Maintain an organized archive of test pins and dispose of outdated samples promptly
- Supervise the Mechanical area to guarantee timely evaluations of all lab samples
- Ensure daily accuracy of all outsourced mechanical testing
- Facilitate the transfer of items between different work centers
- Assist in generating and investigating Non-Conformance reports
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure effective communication
- Engage with external clients as required
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
Minimum Qualifications:
All candidates must successfully pass a 9-panel hair follicle drug test and background screening.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a laboratory or heat treatment setting is advantageous.
