Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients, including behaviors, and accurately document within the time frame set in policy and procedures.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and judgment to analyze patient assessment data and notify physicians of changes in condition.
  • Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans as per policies and procedures.
  • Document all nursing care given and adhere to nursing standards and ministry policies and procedures.
  • Implement and record physicians' orders consistently and accurately.
  • Assess and monitor patients and environment for safety within the unit.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and supervise care delivered by LPNs and techs.
  • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and document education provided in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Apply existing evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to nursing practice, ensuring care is delivered based on patient age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service.
  • As an SSM Health nurse, you will demonstrate professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and use the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide your response to current and evolving healthcare and nursing needs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
