  • Represent the City at various commissions, public events, and meetings related to the Planning Division’s work.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of modern principles and practices in urban renewal, zoning, and city planning, as well as relevant federal, state, and local laws. A strong background in complex development reviews, including historic and wetlands considerations, is essential.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to manage and direct the work of professional and technical personnel.
  • Proficient in analyzing and presenting administrative and technical information effectively.
  • Capable of administering diverse land use and zoning programs.
  • Strong research skills to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Working Conditions:

This position primarily operates in an office setting with potential travel to various sites. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Education and Experience:

A degree from an accredited institution in planning, public administration, architecture, political science, law, or a related field is required, along with four years of progressively responsible experience in urban development or planning, including at least one year in a supervisory role.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid driver's license is mandatory. Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.
