Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill an Open Rank Dentistry Faculty position at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of General Dentistry. The position will involve developing and implementing curriculum plans, supervising residents and students, and contributing to the department's research and service activities.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: 65%
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum plans for the GPR program
    • Supervise and mentor residents and students in the GPR program
    • Teach in the DMD program
  • Scholarship: 10%
    • Contribute to the department's research activities
    • Develop and implement research projects
    • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
  • Clinical/Patient Care: 20%
    • Provide patient care in the DPG faculty practice
    • Maintain quality standards for patient care
  • Service: 5%
    • Participate in departmental and university service activities
    • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • DDS or DMD degree
  • State of Georgia Dental License or State of Georgia Faculty Dental License
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited GPR or AEGD program
  • Experience as a Program Director or Assistant Program Director of a CODA-accredited GPR or AEGD program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in advanced oral surgery
  • Experience in medically complex and medically compromised patients, hospital dentistry, implants (surgical/restorative), and sedation in the dental setting
  • Proficient in advanced technologies and digital workflow
