Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill an open rank faculty position in the Department of General Dentistry at Augusta University. The successful candidate will serve as the Program Director for the GPR residency program and provide full-time support for the DCG General Practice Residency program didactically and clinically.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, administer, and implement a curriculum plan for the GPR residency program.
  • Provide advanced training of residents in all facets of comprehensive care general dentistry.
  • Administer the program, including the selection and evaluation of residents.
  • Meet and report requirements of the DCG dental academic partners, AU Health, Commission on Dental Accreditation, and other entities.
  • Resident/student assessment and evaluation.
Requirements
  • DDS or DMD degree (or foreign equivalent).
  • State of Georgia Dental License or State of Georgia Faculty Dental License.
  • Completion of a CODA accredited GPR or AEGD program.
  • Prior appointments as Program/Assistant Program Director of AEGD/GPR at CODA accredited program desired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in advanced oral surgery consistent with general dentists.
  • Advanced training and experience in medically complex and medically compromised patients, hospital dentistry, implants (surgical/restorative), and sedation in the dental setting.
  • Proficient in advanced technologies and digital workflow.
  • Possess multi-disciplinary comprehensive care patient care approach.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
