Job Summary:

The Director & Actuary I is a key leadership role responsible for managing and directing actuarial projects for Commercial Valuation at Elevance Health. This position requires a strong background in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams, developing actuarial policies and procedures, and analyzing data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Guides staff in the preparation and interpretation of data and related formulae.
Assists the Actuarial department head in developing the company's actuarial policies and procedures.
Directs and provides leadership in actuarial functions, including the design, pricing, and implementation of assigned products, estimation of reserves and financial reporting, interpretation and projection, analysis of trends and cost of care initiatives, and actuarial modeling and analytics.
Maintains the product line to comply with various state and federal regulations.
Conducts and analyzes experience studies, validates pricing assumptions, and monitors the consistency of company practices and procedures.
Performs short and long-term financial forecasting and analysis.

Requirements:

BA/BS in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
ASA/MAAA certification.

Preferred Skills:

Prior Valuation and/or Management experience.

The salary range for this position is $148,896 to $243,648, depending on location and experience.
