SJS Executives, LLC (SJS) is actively seeking dependable, safety-oriented, and seasoned Steam Plant Technicians to join our team. This full-time position is crucial for supporting operations within a federal facility. As a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), SJS prides itself on its dedicated workforce of 150 employees nationwide, with headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

SJS specializes in delivering professional services tailored to federal and military entities. The Steam Plant Technician is required to hold a valid Secret Clearance. Compensation for this role ranges from $35.15 to $40.40 per hour.

Our benefits package includes 11 paid federal holidays annually, 56 hours of accrued sick leave, as well as comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate professionalism, as they will be working on government property and interacting with federal personnel and service members.

Work hours are full-time during standard business operations, typically Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. There may be a requirement for weekend and holiday shifts based on operational needs. Employees who work on federal holidays will receive double pay.


Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various equipment, including hot water tanks, domestic heating systems, and complex boiler systems.

- Monitor and test systems for operational issues.

- Inspect and calibrate thermostats, switches, regulators, fuel cut-off devices, burners, and other safety mechanisms.

- Replace faulty components such as burners, valves, motors, and piping.

- Disassemble and repair burner assemblies, ensuring proper reassembly and testing.

- Maintain units by cleaning filters and ignition components, and removing soot and ash from various systems.

- Follow written or verbal work orders to complete tasks efficiently.

- Select appropriate materials and tools to perform work safely and in compliance with standards.

- Utilize personal protective equipment as required, including hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, and respiratory gear.


Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Secret Clearance and a state driver's license.

- Demonstrated knowledge of combustion principles, heat transfer, and boiler operations.

- Familiarity with mechanical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems, along with a working knowledge of electronics.

- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

- Ability to install, align, and test system components effectively.

- Must pass a drug test and a comprehensive background check for access to military installations.
