About the Role
As a Nutrition and Wellness Educator, you will play a critical role in educating youth about healthy eating habits and physical activity. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Education, Nutrition, or a related field, and at least one year of teaching experience. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with adult volunteers and campers as teaching assistants, helping them to develop their own skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans for 25-50 youth in a camp setting
  • Mentor and supervise other assigned camp staff
  • Work with adult volunteers and campers as teaching assistants
  • Maintain a clean and organized teaching space

About the Work Environment
This position will be located at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center in Pollock, LA, and will require occasional travel to other locations within the state. You will work closely with other professionals in the LSU AgCenter, including 4-H professionals, volunteers, and members. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is $27,000 for a nine-week period, with opportunities for additional compensation based on performance and experience.
