The Louisiana State University Agricultural Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Coastal Education Specialist. This exciting opportunity will allow you to share your knowledge and experience with the next generation of environmental leaders.
About the JobWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to teach natural sciences, coastal environment, and natural resources curriculum to students in a camp setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, sciences, or a related field, and at least one year of teaching experience.
As a Coastal Education Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating track curriculum, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for students. You will also work closely with other summer staff to provide supervision and support to students during camp activities.
This is a nine-week position, with a salary of $$2,700.00 for the period from May 20 to July 25, 2024. You will work Tuesday and Wednesday each week from 7:30 am until 12:00 pm, plus prep and clean-up time. The required training period will be May 13-17, 2024.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently with youth in group situations. You will also need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
