Perioperative Business Operations Specialist

Renowned as the academic flagship of the University of Maryland Medical System, our Magnet-designated facility is a nationally recognized, academic medical center with opportunities across the continuum of care. We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Business Associate to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule all elective surgical & procedural cases daily for the General O.R., Shock Trauma, Procedural and Minor Surgery suites, ensuring compliance with clinical and time allocation guidelines.
- Collaborate with Nursing personnel and Department of Anesthesia staff to coordinate surgical schedules, optimizing the use of operating rooms, procedural areas, and facilities.
- Communicate proactively with clinical and materials staff regarding special requests for personnel, equipment, and facilities, resolving scheduling conflicts with management staff to ensure resource availability.
- Ensure accurate communication of patient demographic and clinical data to Patient Registration, as applicable.
- Adhere to UMMC DTC or MTC protocol for physician scheduling.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of prior administrative and business operations experience, including experience with automated scheduling systems or clinical information systems, inventory control, or general clerical and administrative experience.
- Experience in a business, professional office, or healthcare environment is required.
