Overview

Responsibilities
  • Design structural components of bridges, box culverts, retaining walls, and transportation-related structures
  • Develop details of bridge components for contract drawings
  • Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates
  • Review shop drawings
  • Assist with or team lead bridge inspections and preparation of inspection reports
  • Perform load ratings
  • Participate in project meetings with clients
  • Coordinate with team members to meet project quality standards and milestone deadlines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 5-9 years of experience in bridge design or bridge inspection
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to acquire within 6 months
  • Understanding of structural design principles for steel, reinforced, and prestressed concrete
  • Experience with various design codes, including AASHTO, ACI, AISC, NDS, etc.
  • Experience using structural design and analysis software, such as LARS, Merlin-DASH, Open Bridge Designer, STAAD, L-Pile, etc.
  • Experience drafting with Microstation and AutoCAD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to grow to the next level of leadership and success
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Certification
