Job Summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Battle Avenue Medical Clinic. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care and making a lasting impact on the lives of our patients.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at MU Health Care, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing effective interventions, and creating personalized care plans. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
  • Assess, intervene, and reassess patient self-report/symptoms of pain promptly, utilizing an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects, reporting pertinent information to appropriate individuals and educating patients and significant others about their medications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
  • Maintain standards of nursing care and implement policies and procedures of the hospital and department, participating in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
  • Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person and record those observations accurately and concisely.
  • Provide quality care to patients and work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
  • Participation in a professional nursing organization is preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a healthcare facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, requiring rotating shifts, holidays, and work during inclement weather.
