Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of medications, including IV medications, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a clean and organized environment, adhering to USP 797 standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare medications, including IV medications, accurately and efficiently
- Compound IV medications in a cleanroom environment, adhering to USP 797 standards
- Restock automated dispensing devices and carousels
- Fulfill floor stock requisitions
- Conduct expired medication inspections
- Assist with dispensing questions and ensure proper medication delivery
- Break down wholesaler orders, complete receipt documentation, and stock medications in designated locations
- Maintain the organization of storage areas and storerooms, ensuring timely ordering of replacement stock based on patient usage and par levels
- Functionally utilize hospital information systems
- Current NJ registration (or eligible on hire)
- Must register with the NJ Board of Pharmacy within the first 10 days of employment
- Must complete registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy and become an active registered Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification (PTCB) - preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
