This role is dedicated to assisting individuals in engaging in daily activities, enhancing life skills, and securing and sustaining employment within the community. This includes personalized job training tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct job task assessments for each designated work location.
- Provide individualized support to enhance interpersonal skills, productivity, and overall work quality as specified in a person's Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
- Facilitate opportunities for individuals to achieve and retain community employment.
- Support individuals in acquiring job skills at various community job sites.
- Document individual progress and submit reports to relevant Workforce Development personnel.
- Hold regular one-on-one sessions with individuals to discuss progress.
- Provide weekly updates to the Workforce Manager regarding the development of individuals in the program.
- Assist individuals in exploring potential job sites and participating in community events.
- Foster positive relationships with employers, families, and community partners.
- Act as a communication bridge between individuals, employers, and support networks.
- Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining cleanliness, using proper lifting techniques, and addressing safety issues proactively.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and policies to ensure the well-being of individuals and staff.
- Complete necessary incident reports and documentation promptly.
- Ensure individuals are appropriately dressed and have their personal care needs met.
- Take initiative in performing tasks related to household duties, meal preparation, and activity planning.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating staffing with individuals and relevant support groups.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration among peers.
- Participate in weekly meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Be flexible with work hours to accommodate various schedules and locations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Workforce Manager or designated personnel.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Skills and Competencies:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. A diverse professional background is beneficial. The candidate must:
- Obtain First-Aid/CPR/AED certification within the first month of employment.
- Be adaptable to a flexible work schedule.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Have access to a mobile phone.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, as well as perform various tasks necessary for job training.
