We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Forefront Dermatology. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatology providers in their daily operations.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Preparation and Care
- Room patients and document all vital information prior to exams, including chief complaint, medical history, family history, social history, and review of systems.
- Scribe all information for providers regarding patient encounters, including physical exams, assessments, procedures, prescriptions, consents, operative/pathology reports, and letters sent to PCPs and/or referring providers.
- Procedure Support
- Assist providers with or under their supervision to perform procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, electrodessication and curettage, phlebotomy, phototherapy, injections, patch testing, instrument sterilization, and blue light.
- Obtain informed consents from patients prior to procedures.
- Administrative Tasks
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments following company protocols, procedures, and physician schedule templates.
- Record required information on patient logs, including pathology, biopsy, lab, and temperature.
- Adhere to compliance and complete compliance training.
- Must continually learn and be able to explain new and existing dermatological conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a related field highly desirable.
