DSP Residential IRA Support Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DSP Residential IRA to join our team at Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. As a DSP Residential IRA, you will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including daily living routines, hygiene practices, and preparing individuals for daily activities.
- Administer and/or assist with medications in accordance with OPWDD regulations and Agency Procedures.
- Assist with medical needs, participate in appointments, and complete necessary documentation.
- Plan menus, grocery shop, and prepare meals to meet consumers' dietary needs.
- Participate in and implement habilitation plans, ensuring provision of Medicaid billable services with accurate documentation and billing records.
- Ensure proper handling of Agency money and documentation for approved purchases.
- Assist with house cleaning, laundry, and routine household maintenance to ensure safety and a sanitary environment.
- Schedule and participate in individual's activities, ensuring community integration and providing transportation.
- Document and report incidents in accordance with OPWDD regulations and Agency procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
- 1-3 year's paid employment, volunteer experience, or related life experience.
- Ability to work assigned schedule and be reasonably flexible with work schedule to cover occasional holidays or extended shifts.
- Valid NYS Driver's license with good driving record in accordance with Agency policy/procedure.
- Ability to perform within the DD program Functional Job Description, including lifting regularly, pushing wheelchairs, assisting in transferring individuals, and climbing stairs.
