Job Description

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and understanding EHS standards, local regulations, site procedures, and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and analyzing EHS data for record keeping and trend analysis
  • Investigating EHS incidents, identifying corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement
  • Participating in audits, facilitating training, and maintaining employee EHS files
  • Providing EHS information to customers and vendors
  • Engaging in EHS meetings, managing workers' compensation and return-to-work processes, and overseeing the Drug & Alcohol program
  • Trial training content, providing feedback to EHS leadership, and ensuring compliance with EHS policies
  • Supporting diversity, inclusion, positive employee relations, teamwork, and budgetary adherence
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and complying with all relevant company policies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A well-rounded EHS background within the manufacturing sector, with strong experience in both environmental and safety tasks
  • Passion for EHS and excellent communication skills
  • An associate degree, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in a warehouse/manufacturing/industrial environment with site-wide responsibility for environmental safety and health
  • Experience implementing workplace EHS regulations and standards and collaborating with oversight authorities
  • Preferred: supervisory and training experience, technical/professional certifications, and experience in metal or electronics recycling or related industries
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS data management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at multiple levels and manage change
  • Self-starter with resilience, independent work capability, and strong attention to detail
  • Organizational, analytical, and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of environmental programs such as Stormwater, SPCC, wastewater, air permitting, and hazardous waste
