About the Role

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior General Superintendent II to lead our team in a traveling role. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of large-scale projects, managing budgets, and ensuring the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work and meet project schedules
  • Supervise the construction of large projects or multiple projects
  • Develop and implement project budgets for general conditions and site services
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate potential problems
  • Monitor safety performance and enforce quality control policies
  • Lead contractor meetings, oversee daily reports, and document using Procore
  • Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team and trade contractors
  • Coordinate and manage jobsite logistics
  • Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, and unions by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 15+ years of experience on $100+ million commercial/industrial construction projects or multiple projects in a superintendent role
  • Preferred experience with Advanced Electronics or Mission Critical and Data Center projects
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and participate in sales processes, interviews, and presentations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore
  • Construction document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
