Our school is supported by a team of nine staff and 34 adjunct faculty, all of whom are practicing attorneys and judges within the Sacramento legal community. We are accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California, WASC Senior College and University Commission, and are currently pursuing Title IV financial aid programs.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Records Director. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this individual will be responsible for managing student admissions, enrollment accounting, financial aid delivery systems, academic records, and student information systems. The successful candidate will oversee the school's registrar and administrative staff, working closely with the Executive Director and Dean to achieve departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the admissions process, including planning, goal setting, and implementation.
  • Manage the entire admissions process, including responding to inquiries and processing applicants.
  • Serve as the school's financial aid contact and liaison with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Direct and monitor the school's record keeping process, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for student applications, financial aid, and records management.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to inform schools, students, and the community about admissions and financial aid opportunities.
  • Exercise professional judgment in reviewing and recommending applicants for admission.
  • Coordinate the use of technology for admissions, registration, grade reporting, and student records.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience managing multiple departments and employees, including admissions, student services, financial aid, and records.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of financial aid and veteran affairs aid processing.
  • Advanced project management skills, including delegation, tracking, and supervising.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with the ability to apply and integrate core concepts into everyday practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.
  • Experience managing financial aid in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to lead data gathering efforts and prepare statistical reports.
  • Strong understanding of the academic environment, including admissions, records, and financial aid needs and workflows.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this position require the ability to talk or hear, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to work a flexible schedule or extended hours, including some weekends or holidays, and occasionally work offsite for outreach activities. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
