Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Tesla. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality manufacturing equipment and processes that meet our stringent quality and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement manufacturing equipment and processes from pilot prototypes to full-scale production
- Determine and procure necessary equipment for all manufacturing processes
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and manufacture equipment and fixtures for medium to high-volume production
- Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff, and installation of manufacturing equipment
- Characterize and validate new equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor
- Determine layout of production workstations for product flow, ergonomics, and efficiency
- Perform process analysis, DOE, PFMEA, line balancing activities, and capacity modeling/simulation
- Provide DFM input to design team for process and yield improvements
- Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering, or relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional engineering and powder coat experience or related automotive paint manufacturing environment
- Ability to develop and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with pre-treatment systems and related waste water management
- Experience with HVAC and air balancing of e-rooms
- Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience introducing new products and new processes from a prototype environment to a production environment
- Experience providing design for manufacturability and automation
- Experience designing production line layouts in AutoCAD
- Proficiency designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA)

Expected Compensation$104,400 - $178,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
