Role Summary: The Japanese Cuisine Specialist will be responsible for expertly preparing a variety of sushi and other traditional dishes, managing ingredient inventory, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and prepare the workstation in accordance with restaurant protocols.
  • Craft all menu items as instructed, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Adhere to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
  • Assist with additional kitchen tasks as directed by the Culinary Manager.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in Japanese culinary practices is advantageous.
  • Valid health certification or food handler's card is required.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, efficiency, and precision in food preparation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Promotes and adheres to safety and sanitation standards, utilizing equipment responsibly.

Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic restaurant environment. Candidates must be capable of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying items weighing up to thirty pounds (30 lbs.) or more. Frequent reaching, climbing, and bending are also necessary, along with the ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
