This role requires a proactive and strategic communicator who can effectively narrate the successes of our dedicated staff, students, and families, while also engaging new donor communities and streamlining our communication efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute all-encompassing communication strategies and annual plans tailored to diverse audiences, fostering awareness and momentum.
  • Establish a robust social media strategy and oversee the organization’s online presence to expand our donor base and engage stakeholders.
  • Manage the organization’s website, collaborating with various departments to ensure it reflects our dynamic initiatives accurately.
  • Work alongside the Chief Development Officer to create and implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns, newsletters, and appeals that enhance our storytelling and connect with donors.
  • Collaborate with our external public relations consultant to craft compelling narratives, increase media visibility, and monitor coverage while ensuring timely responses.
  • Partner with senior leadership to design and sustain a cohesive branding strategy, including a style guide and communication protocols.
  • Create and refine internal communication materials (presentations, brochures, flyers, etc.) to ensure consistent messaging that embodies our organizational culture and values.
  • Engage with program staff to collect impactful stories and data that showcase our achievements and influence.
  • Assist in preparing speeches, talking points, and presentations for executive leadership.
  • Customize pitch materials for funders and external partners to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Stay informed about relevant trends in mental health and philanthropy to enhance our communication strategies.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and maintain an updated list of service providers for various departmental needs.
  • Support the Development team in organizing and executing cultivation and fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Contribute to additional projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the core values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with 5-7 years of experience in the communications field.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of generating creative ideas and strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into engaging content.
  • Strong visual communication abilities and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Canva).
  • Proficient in digital communication and social media platforms, including content creation and analytics.
  • Experience in managing website content using WordPress or similar platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to implement effective communication systems and policies.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.
  • A broad understanding of the philanthropic, educational, and mental health sectors is advantageous.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $110,000, based on qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer matching, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, and generous paid leave, including vacation days and holidays.
