Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Director of its Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Located in Newark, NJ, this esteemed academic health center takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. As a hybrid academic/administrative role, the successful candidate will oversee the direction and management of the program, work collaboratively with colleagues from nursing and other professions, role model high standards of clinical practice, teaching excellence, and scholarship, and actively participate in professional organizations and School of Nursing faculty governance.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Provide the vision for, and academic leadership of, the Family Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Facilitate student recruitment, advisement, clinical placement, progression, and remediation
  • Lead, plan, implement, revise, and evaluate curricula to meet and exceed accreditation standards of the CCNE
  • Maintain all program accreditation documents including reports
  • Perform formative and summative student and program outcome evaluation including certification pass rates
  • Develop clinical partnerships, evaluate clinical sites/preceptors, and secure and provide oversight for the student clinical placement process
  • Envision and teach didactic and clinical courses
  • Advise and chair student DNP projects
  • Recruit and mentor new faculty
  • Maintain an active clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (may be part of teaching workload)

Qualifications

">
  • Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, EdD, or other) is required
  • Current clinical practice experience across the lifespan is essential
  • Teaching experience in higher education and a commitment to innovative teaching and assessment methods is necessary
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000, commensurate with experience.
