As a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect/Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing architectural and engineering projects, overseeing design development, performing various types of inspections, testing, and producing plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage internal kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings for projects
  • Verify schedules and ensure adherence to project plans and timelines
  • Conduct on-site inspections, documenting existing conditions, performing field testing, photographing, and creating hand-sketches
  • Prepare written correspondence with clients and contractors
  • Understand investigation reports and bid documents
  • Communicate project status and proactively address any issues or discrepancies
  • Maintain organized records, files, drawings, and other essential project data
  • Collect post-project feedback to identify areas of improvement
  • Keep up to date with job knowledge and industry trends

Technical Requirements:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team throughout the design and construction phases
  • Perform and coordinate design, calculations, and drawings
  • Perform peer review of other technical data prepared by internal Engineers/Architects and third-party entities
  • Perform and coordinate forensic inspections
  • Conduct a wide range of testing, including material testing, structural analysis, and performance evaluations
  • Generate comprehensive field reports and expert reports

Client Relations:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders to understand project objectives and provide technical recommendations
  • Foster strong client relationships, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project requirements and objectives

Internal Team:

  • Work closely with the team to understand the scope of work, budget, goals, deliverables, and timeline
  • Provide assistance, advice, and recommendations to different team members regarding technical issues on various projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering or Architecture
  • Four plus years of experience in exterior wall inspection in the architectural/engineering consulting industry
  • Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license required
  • QPSI license required
  • OSHA-30 Certification (NY)
  • Valid United States Driver's License required

  • Proficient written and verbal communication abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in project documentation and deliverables
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards
  • Professional and courteous interaction with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local areas as workload and projects require

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Safe operation and use of ladders, scaffolds, swing stages, and other access equipment as required
  • Ability to work safely at heights
  • Exposure to prolonged periods outdoors, which might extend beyond 4 hours
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions
