Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton Aerospace is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Engineering Lead to spearhead the development of innovative additive manufacturing solutions. This role will be responsible for defining best practices for manufacturing, processing, and inspection techniques for additively manufactured products.
As a key member of the Digital Design and Additive Manufacturing center in Charleston, S.C., the successful candidate will collaborate with design, additive engineers, and technicians to develop and optimize additive manufacturing designs, write procedures, and implement continuous improvements projects to optimize the process for cost and quality.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in the aerospace industry and a proven track record of delivering results-driven solutions. They will be responsible for introducing new additive products in production, researching and justifying new manufacturing processes, and supporting the development and execution of overall manufacturing strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing effective mistake-proofing as part of continuous improvement and root cause/corrective action
- Delivering process improvement cost-out initiatives, including cycle time reduction, tooling cost-out, and set-up reduction
- Collaborating with design, other additive engineers, and technicians to develop and optimize additive manufacturing designs and processes
- Participating in Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to eliminate waste and drive standardization
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence others' decision-making and manage multiple projects/activities. They will be process-oriented, with a strong understanding of problem-solving methodologies and risk assessment tools.
