Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Nurse practitioners at Kaiser Permanente provide high-quality patient care services, focusing on acute episodic conditions and chronic problems. They offer health evaluations, preventive care, education, and counseling to patients.
These professionals work in primary care or specialty departments, consistent with their educational preparation and following Regional Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols for Ambulatory and Hospital-Based Practice.
Key responsibilities include performing complete physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and establishing and documenting health care plans.
They consistently demonstrate knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to patients, members, and customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collect subjective data (obtain history).
- Collect objective data (perform a physical exam).
- Develop an assessment (diagnosis).
- Develop and implement a management plan.
- Facilitate the referral of patients to appropriate health facilities, agencies, and resources.
- Order pharmacologic interventions.
- Develop and implement an educational plan.
- Plan for appropriate follow-up care.
They consistently support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, acting with ethics and integrity, and adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year experience as an NP or PA.
- Graduate of an accredited RN and NP Program or PA program.
- Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California) and National Certificate.
- Registered Nurse License (California) and Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California).
- OR Physician Assistant License (California) and National Certificate.
- Basic Life Support and National Provider Identifier.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to consider Physician Assistant job code 30004.
- Obtain California Furnishing Number and DEA Registration Number within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Current DEA Registration Number and PALS if applicable.

- Recent Pediatric Experience within the last 3 years.
- Travel between the Riverside Service Area MOBs.
- Perform procedures and have patient visits.
- Work rotating weekends and holidays per UNAC Contract.
