Position Overview:

The Safety Systems Engineer is responsible for applying systems principles and methodologies to navigate the complexities of modern warfare systems development. This role aims to mitigate uncertainties in engineering design choices and acquisition decision-making processes. You will be tasked with analyzing and interpreting design specifications, documentation, models, and test results to ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and military specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with clients and project leaders to report on safety program status, prepare detailed reports, and review subcontractor safety documentation and analyses.
  • Enhance and advance the System Safety Engineering process and methodology, serving as an advocate for the discipline within the organization.
  • Engage in tasks involving requirements analysis, interface analysis, and operational analysis, alongside system safety testing and verification.
  • Develop predictive models and conduct mathematical analyses to support product reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Possess familiarity with ejection seat systems and weapon deployment systems.
  • Create impactful presentations and conduct briefings for clients and senior management.
  • Interpret engineering reports, drawings, and electrical schematics effectively.
  • Manage multiple projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules, demonstrating effective time management and independence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to access restrictions to certain systems and tools.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Systems Safety Engineer role or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical issues and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, remain focused on program schedules, collaborate with team members for optimal decision-making, and contribute positively to the work environment.
  • Practical experience and insights in industry-specific tools and technologies.
