The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Sciences Attending Physician to join our innovative interventional community pain practice in the Los Angeles area.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat both elective and urgent consultations
- Provide patient care following best practice standards and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Deliver evidence-informed medical and interventional pain management based on appropriate clinical indications, ensuring high standards of care
- Collaborate with paramedical clinicians, other physicians, and support services for multidisciplinary interventional pain management
- Report regularly to the Medical Director and collaborate closely with the Clinic Manager, Executive Team, and Patient Access Team
- Valid California Medical License and DEA License
- Board Eligible/Certificated in Anesthesia
- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge in performing physical examinations during pre-, intra-, and post-operative surgical, medical and obstetrical patients
- Ability to identify pre-existing disease entities and their potential impact upon anesthesia care plan and administration, through interpretation of past medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, ECG and chest x-ray
- Ability to recognize return to consciousness of anesthesia reflexes signaling safe emergence from anesthesia
- Ability to recognize post-op complications of anesthesia and initiating emergency treatment
