Qualifications for Montessori Preschool Lead Educator

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree is necessary for teaching elementary students
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Montessori credentials required (AMS, AMI, or equivalent certification)
  • Compliance with all state preschool lead teacher requirements
  • Flexibility and willingness to work within business hours
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or college degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a lead role, implementing Montessori philosophy and curriculum
  • A strong commitment to the Montessori method and philosophy

  • Work collaboratively with fellow preschool educators to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Respect and observe children's interests, intervening as necessary to ensure safety while enhancing play with language, toys, and activities.
  • Encourage and model developmentally appropriate social behavior and expectations.
  • Contribute ideas to plan a balanced daily schedule that includes a variety of activities: quiet/active, indoor/outdoor, fine/gross motor, etc.
