Job Summary

The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist is a key member of our team at First Federal Lakewood, responsible for the day-to-day servicing of auto and marine loans. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of lending laws and regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with management and team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service: Engage with customers to provide excellent service, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues related to consumer loan accounts.
  2. Collection Counseling: Make collection calls for past due consumer loans and work with the default servicing team to refer seriously delinquent accounts.
  3. Payoff Processing: Prepare and process payoff quotes, give instructions to customers and financial institutions, and process lien releases.
  4. Insurance Claims: Review insurance claims on damage to collateral property, coordinate with customers and insurance carriers, and collect deficiency balances.
  5. System Maintenance: Perform system maintenance tasks, including payment corrections, address changes, and loan coding corrections.
  6. Special Programs: Administer special consumer loan programs and promotions, such as Skip-A-Payment.
  7. Compliance: Comply with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and related anti-money laundering statutes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. 1-2 years of experience in consumer loan servicing.
  2. A strong understanding of lending laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  3. Additional experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software.
  5. A High School Diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree in Finance preferred.
