Job Overview

Position: Associate Attorney

A reputable legal firm is in search of a dedicated Associate Attorney to enhance their practice. Candidates with some experience in probate law are preferred, but recent law graduates with relevant coursework and a keen interest in residential real estate are also encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee estate administration processes from initiation to closure, ensuring all proceedings are managed effectively.
  • Prepare a variety of legal documents related to probate and estate planning, including wills, trust modifications, Powers of Attorney, applications, inventories, accountings, petitions, and court orders.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and creditors throughout the estate management process.
  • Efficiently organize and manage claims related to estates.
  • Accurately categorize and report on assets involved in estate administration.
  • Conduct initial client consultations and manage their expectations throughout the process.
  • File necessary documents electronically through appropriate legal portals and handle paper filings as required.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Experience or coursework in estate and probate law is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in research, writing, and legal analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
