The LPN Charge Nurse is a key member of the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center team, responsible for providing administrative leadership and clinical expertise in the absence of the Resident Services Manager, Program Manager, and/or Department Director. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to coordinate resources and prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise resident care throughout the department and coordinate resources from ancillary departments.
- Make administrative decisions and provide leadership to the team.
- Participate in direct resident care as required.
- Utilize the nursing process, nursing standards, and physician orders to plan and provide care.
The LPN Charge Nurse works in a well-lighted, ventilated, and air-conditioned area. The schedule may consist of weekends, holidays, and shift work. The role requires long periods of stationary position and moving around the unit, as well as exposure to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds.
Requirements- Graduate of an accredited LPN training program.
- Demonstrated competence in the clinical setting.
- Current LPN License in the State of Kentucky.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
