About the Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the analysis, development, and design of water supply and wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients to provide technical assistance and support, ensuring that projects meet or exceed industry standards.

Your Impact
  • Evaluate, plan, design, permit, and support the management of projects for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities.
  • Assist with performing basic engineering work relating to water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities.
  • Assist with performing basic engineering work relating to wastewater conveyance and collection, including lift stations and force mains.
  • Assist with performing basic engineering work relating to improvements and retrofitting of existing water and wastewater treatment plans.
  • Prepare calculations, analytic models, written studies, and project design technical reports.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of professional water resources engineering work relating to water supply, quality, management, and treatment for various end uses.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to get one within 6 months of hiring.
  • Engineer in Training Certification or the ability to get certification within 6 months of hiring.
  • 1 year of engineering-related experience in the water/wastewater industry, preferably post-graduation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing engineering design software such as Civil 3D or Revit.
  • Experience utilizing analysis software such as WaterGEMS, MathCAD, or ArcGIS.
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
