We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Weld Supervisor and Certified Welding Inspector to oversee our welding operations and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. This hybrid role will involve both hands-on supervision of the welding team and thorough inspection of welds to meet industry standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld Supervisor:
- Lead a team of welders, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Develop and implement welding procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
- Provide hands-on training and mentoring to welders to enhance skills and performance.
- Monitor and assess welding equipment and materials, ensuring they are maintained in optimal working condition.
- Resolve welding-related issues promptly and effectively to minimize production delays.
- Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI):
- Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds to ensure they meet project specification and industry codes.
- Review and interpret welding prints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of welding inspections and activities.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality control processes and procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in welding technology, engineering, or related field preferred.
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
- Proven experience as a welding supervisor and/or welding inspector in similar industry.
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and standards.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Experience in writing and qualifying welding procedures and conducting welder qualification testing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with welding inspection tools and equipment.
